How Many Carbs And Calories

Recommended Posts

Ok.. Here goes I was banded in Nov 2011. My weight loss has stalled. I recently doubled my injury Protein Shakes to 2 a day and have started to lose again... FINALLY. My doc who did my surgery and the doc I am seeing now in another state have different thoughts on the amy of carbs and calories I should have daily. Please share with me your daily calorie/carb consumption. Help needed.

I eat between 1000-1200 calories a day. I eat at least 60g grams of Protein, no more than 125g of carbs, and no more than 20% fat. I don't buy white rice, bread or Pasta. Only whole grain and brown rice, and if the label says "bleached" or "enriched" I don't buy it.

For me, this is the formula that works. Everyone is different so we all have to find what works best for us.

Ms73, Can you tell me an avg days food intake using those specs? I'm having difficulty finding a healthy balance of band friendly foods. Thanks!

Sure!

Breakfast: powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chocolate Splendor shake (I have one every morning)

Lunch: tuna with fat free mayo on 1 slice of toasted whole grain bread, 1 piece of melted low fat cheese on top

Dinner: 1/2 a skinless, boneless chicken breast, usually marinaded. 1/4c of mashed potatoes, 1/4c of green Beans

If I do need a snack, I'll have a 1/4 cup of low fat cottage cheese, a wedge of light babybel cheese, or a sugar free pudding.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
