Hi Debbie,

Things have gone really well. I am 2 weeks out today, feeling like myself again, plus I am down 10 lbs. My goal is to lose 10 lbs per month.......trying to be realistic, so I'm pleased. Am still in the mushy stage, but I have found things pretty easy. Just trying to stay focused and listen to my body!

Any challenges I should be aware of when I transition to Phase III?

Dora

On my first visit to Dr. Vorha he gave me a tentative date of Sept 20th. One of my concerns for approval is I don't have 3 years previous Doctor reports noting my weight. I haven't been to any Doctors. Hoping that will not matter for approval. Also pulmonary dr didn't send me for the sleep apnea test because after our discussion at the appt he didn't feel I needed it.

Same things happened to me.

Hey y'all --

I'm out in the Hampsters. I know, the East End isn't REALLY Long Island.... ;)

Getting banded August 27 down in Tijuana, but doing follow-ups with Dr. Allam in Southampton.

Nervous and excited. You all sound like you're doing so well! Gives me hope.

I am hoping to find someone to share or help me with this process. :D

Hi Mara, I'm on Long Island, Ronkonkoma. I also had surgery with Dr. Ahmad on July 23. Doing really well. I've started the mushy stage of food. Saw the doc today and lost a total of 14 pounds so far. Feeling pretty good. Good luck to you.

Hello! I see him on Thursday, hoping to get my surgery date then! Have you been to a support group meeting? I've been to a couple, I really like them.

I went to one support group before surgery. Kind of difficult with my work schedule. Hoping to get to another one soon.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
