What do you mean by "keeps slipping"? Have you had more than one slip? Some slips can be remedied with an unfill and then slowing working your way back up to restriction.

I was diagnosed with a band slip back in March and am currently scheduled for 5/29 for band removal/revision to the sleeve. I am lucky that my insurance is paying for it. Have you looked into going to Mexico to have revision surgery there?

Thanks ladies for responding: My band slipped once and we took everything out. I went back in 6weeks and it had gone back in place. The Dr.gave me a fill had me come back in two months and it had slipped again. He told me I could leave it a lone or take everything out again for two months I decided to leave it alone. He told me I need to be

Deciding about either trying to fix it or do the sleeve so that's what I'm trying to fiqure out. Amber I would love to know how your sleeve goes also how many times had your band slipped? Hope it goes well. I would be too afraid to go to Mexico.

It slipped once we took everything out then after one fill it has slipped again. Dr. Said I need to decide to try to fix or do the sleeve. I notice you have band repositioning in July

Did this happen to you? Thank you for responding

No. I did not have a slip. My band is being repositioned because my surgeon has to unhook it to repair the hiatal hernia.

I am sorry you continue to have slippage. Have you been vomiting a lot? If my band continued to slip I would probably have it removed. Unfortunately some people's bodies do not tolerate the band well.

Good luck with your decision.

It only slipped one time but the slip was so severe that the doctor said I needed to have the band out. Was told that I could have another band placed but I read statistics saying that the chance for success with a 2nd band is significantly less. I was having such horrible problems with throwing up and reflux and I don't want to live my life like that. So I chose to have the sleeve.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
