I got a fill last Thursday . It's kicking in today, my fills usually take a week before I notice a difference. Anyone else band do this? I also think I am to tight. I ate some chicken salad for lunch and after a few bites was done. I ended up vomiting once and was fine. Tonight I ate 2 bites if Mac and cheese and felt the feeling of being stuck. Have vomited 2 times and still not feeling any better. Hope I can get into the dr tomorrow there is only 1 who can access my port the others can not find it.

I am definitely not an expert but sounds like you are too tight. If you are vomiting after that amount, it could be too much restriction. I got my 4th fill on Monday and I can definitely tell this round that I got it. I am eating way less and feeling full much longer.

You could be too tight, or you stomach is irritated and swollen. When we have to vomit, it causes swelling around the band which makes it feel tighter. This happened to me Tuesday after my fill. I got sick eating my lunch and the rest of the day was horrible. My rule of thumb, if I get sick during the day, I switch to liquids for the rest of the day to allow the irritation to subside. Give it overnight and see how you feel the next day on liquids only. For me, the next morning, I still couldn't get my Protein shake down and ended up going in for a slight unfill. But sometimes, I'm fine the next day even after a day of constant pain and vomitting. But I always take it easy and eat soft or liquid foods the next day.

But, if you are still uncomfortable, be sure to get there for an unfll right away. You can dehydrate very quickly from not being able to keep anything down. I say, after 24 hours, if you are still feeling too tight, go ahead and get an unfill.

Remember that things like Mac and cheese have enriched flour and kind of doughy could ball up in your stomach. It seems after the first few days of full liquid after full, for me I had to take it to soft mushy and gradually try different things after a full.

Oops after a fill. You may be too tight. I was on last full and my surgeon encouraged me to contact him instead of waiting:( part of me wanted the restriction, but in the end I think it's not such a good idea because you veer to slider foods. That can cause weight gain. But also can deplete your body of the Protein and things you need to function.

Thanks for all the comments! I did call my doctor on Friday to be told that no one is in the office and to go to the ER. I have not gone did not feel that I was that bad. I am watching what I eat drinking a lot of liquids and will follow up with them on Monday. Of course if things worsen I will go to ER

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
