Awwwww, poor you. I am pre op but there was a post recently that said get on your knees, put head on bed and bum in air.

You might be too sore for that position. Don't know what else to suggest. I hope you get some relief and some sleep soon. hugsssss.....

And congratulations.....

I got mylicon drops like I used to give my kids when they were babies - helped a little.... tried maalox (sp?) and that helped a little. Heating pad in bed helped more than anything. It just takes some time to get past it. Took me about 2 weeks that I thought would never end - but they did! If you're like me, you'll start getting pain in your shoulder and collar bone area... that sucks. Like I said though - it WON'T last forever! Hang in there - you'll make it! Congrats on your surgery.... this few weeks of post op blues will be over before you know it.

Walk, walk, walk, gas-x, heating pad... the works. :) I even tried camomille tea, because someone told me it helped. I don't know that it did, lol, but I kept drinking it!

It does pass... eventually. I kept taking the pain meds so I could sleep. After about a week, I finally switched to liquid Tylenol -- especially Tylenol Nighttime in vanilla, yum!

Two weeks later the pains were MUCH less, and at 3 weeks I hardly notice them. It flares up every now & then, but it's SOOO much better.

Congrats on your surgery & good luck with the gas!! :)

Oh boy do I ever know what you're going through! I am now 11 days post-op and still passing TONS of gas! I suffered alot with feeling like I had a stomach flu. My husband could hear my stomach from across the room! I do feel much better now, so just keep reminding yourself that this is temporary and it will be over soon. I did find the position that helped me most was to put my head down on the bed and put my butt as high in the air as possible. This moves the gas from the shoulder/diaphram area into the bowels and is such a relief. If you're not too sore you could try it. I did not find Gas-X to be a big help, but the heating pad helped a ton. I didn't think it would work for gas, but it relaxes the muscles in the area and it's very soothing. Other things to try: mint tea, ginger tea, fennel tea (this one helped the most), and avoiding dairy. Hang in there because I never thought I would be out of the woods but I think I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel now.

Hi..I am at day five post op...and am still experiencing the most excruciating gas pains in my left shoulder. I have tried everything.....I called my doctor's office yesterday and was told it can take 10-12 days for it to pass. ARGH!!! I can't stay in an upright position for more then five minutes without the pain being so horrible it makes me want to lay right back down. Laying on my left side relieves most all the pain. Good luck!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
