History: my husband and I ttc for about 3 yrs and with all the tests and everything we went through we both were told we were perfectly fine we have unexplained infertility :( at the time I weighed 253 lbs and was told I was on my way to type 2 diabetes. We decided to take a break from trying and I looked into lap band which I have to say was the best thing I could have done :) I had the surgery in November 2010. Within one year I lost 110 lbs! I now weigh 140 lbs and couldn't feel healthier :) Life is good. We started ttc again on our own in January and with no luck went to a different specialist who is highly recommended! We just did an IUI procedure on May 5th and last Friday they had me go in for a progesterone test. The nurse called and said that they want to see the level at 15 or higher and if it's below that the. I go on some kind of supplement. She said they consider 40 to be high and to not get my hopes up but mine was 93! She was very positive without working me up too much in case I'm not pregnant! I have until Saturday then I can test...I'm nervous but excited :-) does anyone have input on the high progesterone level? Has anyone been through anything like this?

Congrats! I tried for 20 yrs to get pregnant, even went thru IVF, to no avail. I don't think the band would have anything to do with a high progesterone level, if that's what you're asking. In fact, I don't think anything in your body could have an effect on progesterone, except pregnancy.

Again, congrats! That's wonderful. I hope everything works out well for you!

Thanks Marci! I appreciate the reply. Did you end up adopting any children? It's such a hard thing to go through....infertility is no joke! I don't think some people understand how stressful it can be especially when the dr's tell you there's nothing wrong at all! I fell like the progesterone level is a good sign and that this might finally be it for us but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much!

I have never tried to get pregnant, but can only imagine the pain it can bring if you can't have children. At least now the cards look in your favor, and if this isn't the one, there is much hope it will come in the future!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
