Back from the Oprah show!!

Recommended Posts

Well, I am back from Chicago and seeing Oprah. It was really interesting to see how things are done. The show that was taped airs today and it is about the Oscar's. She had Diane Keaton and Emma Thompson on and showed past winner's clips. Then we were going to do an After the Show but they had to do a show on the child predator's. They caught another one and she had the man that turned the predator in there and was interviewing him. So we were able to be there for two shows. She looked really good in person!! And she was very friendly and funny in between takes. I didn't get to see much of Chicago at all but I did get to go to a place to eat that someone on this board told me to go to! It was called the Flat Top Grill....and it was soooooo good! :biggrin1:

I'll set the DVR to recod today! I love Emma Thompson movies. Wonder if we'll see you in the audience? I'll look as best I can...what were you wearing?

I was wearing a black velvet jacket with a white, ruffled shirt under it. I have dark brown hair and I was sitting next to my mother-in-law who was wearing a blue sweater and has platinum blonde hair...can't miss her hair!!!! :) We were sitting on the upper level in Oprah's view of the audience...she was facing us. They had the camera in our direction at one point but that is if they use that. SO! Does this mean that instead of looking like I have lost 35lbs...it will look like 25lbs since the camera adds 10lbs???? :)

Ohhh...I'm so jealous! I've been trying to get tickets for the past three years. How did you get the tickets? I DVR Oprah everyday, so I'll look for you. How cool is that! :clap2:

Well, I watched Friday's show and they really didn't show much of the audience but there is still the Monday/Tuesday show on child predators...we'll see. But it was a great experience and a pleasure just to be there.

I think). They moved us around and I was across from the stage in the front row up one level. There was a railing in front of me so I don't know if it will block me or not.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
