2Nd Fill. What Do Others Feel Like?

Recommended Posts

So, longer story shorter, I was banded on 5/04/10. I was 223, and am now 192. I got banded in Mexico and hesitated to go back there for fills. I got my first fill a year ago in Las Vegas by Fill Centers USA which is now out of business, so I waited to find another doctor versus going to Mexico. I have just moved to Seattle, where I discovered a doctor that has been in Weight Management for over 40 years.

The lowest I have ever got was 192, and I've maintained, but I want to be about 160. My fill on Wednesday brings me to 3cc in a 10cc band. Basically, I'm looking for others advice on how they feel after a fill, hunger feelings, how long it took for you to feel restriction at various fill levels.

Although I've been banded for almost 2 years, I feel like a newbie.

Thanks

I should add that I can easily swallow a gulp of Water. I have gotten stuck in the past, sucks, but that was with 1cc.

There is no difinitive answer to your question. We all have different responses to fills. I'm on fill 5 and I feel some restriction but I know I need at least one more. I'm 5 months out and I'm eating less so I'm slowly losing but it's not what I had expected.

I've seen where some bandsters need no fills and have restriction from the start or some bandsters feel full quicker and it lasts longer. Others have difficulty with the first few bites and then can eat quite a bit. Seems like that ideal place where we can eat a cup of well chewed food and feel totally satiated for hours is very elusive and for some of us, unattainable.

Keep watching this forum and you will see similar stories every day. Good luck.

my fills can take up to around 2 weeks for me to actually feel the restriction, so give your fill a chance to work and for you to 'feel it' if u dont maybe go back and ask for a little more :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
