Please Give Me A Boost, Bandster Hell Is Taking A Toll A Little Bit...

Recommended Posts

I know how this all works. I have been steadily losing weight, doctor is happy.

HOWEVER....today I had my 3rd fill, for a total now of 8 cc's in a 14 cc band. I got 1 cc today, and have had no issues- I truly can't tell any difference. The Water at the Dr office went down fine, the Soup I had for lunch went down fine....

When the heck am I going to feel restriction, people????

I can hang on, I am fine with using willpower for awhile longer, but dang, I thought I'd feel something by now!!!!!

I have lost 42 lbs, still motivated, but want some love and attention from my fellow banders, LOL

42 pounds without restriction is amazing! I can only hope I do as well. Keep of the great work!

You want the liquids to go down without a problem. Wait until you move to whole foods again. Congrats on the weight you have lost so far. Good luck!

It takes a good 3 weeks for me to notice any difference in my band after a fill. I am at 8.5cc in 14 cc band, had my fill 3 weeks ago, and just this past weekend did I start to notice that I had good restriction. I am down 4lbs since my fill, which is good, but I think I need about 1/2 cc more to get to my green zone. Give it a bit, you might be amazed at the difference in a week or so

Hi there! You have done very well, just keep your head up! I just got my first fill today, so I will have a few more to go as well before I find the zone. I figure I will diet, diet, diet and when I am right about to the point where I would have formally given up and gone back to my old habits, my band will kick in and keep me going.

Remember, restriction shouldn't make drinking difficult. It is just supposed to make sure you take small bites of solid foods and chew them well, and it is also supposed to keep you hungry for longer. You aren't supposed to have discomfort or difficulty swallowing and eating though. That is a bad thing because it will make you turn to things that are easy to get past the band, which tend to be high sugar, calorie dense foods.

Maybe give it some more time? I COMPLETELY understand what you are going through. I am just now where I can really tell that I even have a band. I finally started to feel like I was getting close at my last fill before this. As of today, I am at 11.45cc in a 14cc band. Still on liquids because of the fill so we shall see how it goes. I agree that is soooo hard when you feel like you have no restriction. And you still might need a couple of fills to get you to the elusive "green zone". But keep doing what you are doing as you are totally on it with the weight loss :)

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
