Well, i'm finally banded and I have to say it's not near as painful as I thought it would be. I do have some gas pain but it comes and goes and is never too bad. I'm on Clear Liquids for a week but I have a question about how much you are supposed to drink in one sip. I'm scared of making too big of a sip so I've just been swallowing about a half of a teaspoon at a time. I know it doesn't sound like much but I am making sure Im getting a lot of fluids in. What is a "safe" amount to swallow at a time?

It wasn't bad at all. I went in scared of the pain but after I woke up I was pleasantly surprised on how little pain I had. I haven't had any pain medicine yet and hoping not to even need it at all. I had my surgery at 7:30 this morning and they let me go a little after 11 am. Which I'm glad because I can rest better at home lol. I hope yours goes as smoothly as mine also and I wish you lots of luck and success!

Thank you! I'm really surprised how great it's going, I just hope I don't wake up in extreme pain tomorrow lol. My mouth is so dry I've been constantly drinking Water and gatorade. I'm going to have broth for dinner. YUM lol

Congrats on being banded!!! Those first few days I would take a normal sip but then make 2- 3 swallows out of it. If that makes sense. I just got my first fill today and am so tight so I am back to where you are......sip, sip and more sip!!! I hope you continue to do so well.

Thank you everyone! I've been doing pretty good today with sipping, I make sure to take tiny sips and drink slowly. This is all very new and will take some time but I'm looking forward to the results.

I had so much pain I could barely breath, but I also had my gall bladder out. I took pain meds for 3 days staight and had to sleep sitting up for a day or two and I tolerate pain really well. I was surprised with how much it hurt, lol. Once, again I think that was prob related to the gall bladder.

I was in a lot of pain too and I still have my gallbladder. They had to give me the maximum dose of morphine! Today is the first day I can sit comfortably.

Congrats! I had my surgery today too! Although I do feel like I am having more pain from the gas that they inflated me with. I guess I also had a hernia too that they fixed while in there. I have been trying my best to drink all day, use my spirometer, and take it easy.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
