Went in for my first fill today.

10cc band

Had 4cc in the band after the surgery (they did a complete un fill to varify) so we added 1cc for a total of 5cc

Went to the waiting area to drink Water. And it's a no-go. Water got stuck and I slime.

Go back in and 2cc is removed to get it un-stuck.

I was doing well with the 4cc. Feeling food restriction but was getting hungry after only 2 hrs.

Stuff happens. Will get the missing 1cc back in two weeks.

Seems like family does not 'get it' so I thought I would share with people who do.

Sounds like you were close to your green zone and 1cc was perhaps too aggressive of a fill.

Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself. I have told my doctor on several occasions the fill amount I wanted. He tends to be agressive with fills where I lean towards the conservative. You will learn eventually what a difference just .2cc can make when you are close to optimal restriction.

Perhaps ask for 1.2cc when you go back. That will put you slightly over where you were.

Hang in there!!

I understand. I was at 4.3 and got reflux so bad. The doctor took me down to 3.8 and now I'm back up to 4 as of yesterday. I asked the doctor yesterday why do some people seem to have 8 in a 10 and I'm miserable at 4.3. His answer just like everyone elses is were all different. Same as weight loss...some loose faster than others. I'm 8 months out and I'm down 53 lbs. Of course we all want to loose things overnight, but I'll take anything I loose.

I feel ya! I was at a 6.5 in a 10cc band and I just couldnt handle it. Got an unfill down to 6.2 and I feel hungry alllllll the time. Sometimes I can eat alot and certain foods then the next day I cant handle anything. So confusing! Hang in there!

I added .2 did fine the first 3 days then day 4 it tightened up like you wouldn't believe. Doc removed 1 cc. Even though I wanted less out, I didn't care. No more reflux, excessive burping, or pain in the chest when just drinking. I think we are going 2 go .1 cc at a time only if I feel myself getting hungry. I'm scared of fills now. Lol! Just go slow from now on.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
