No Support Group That Is Close To Me

I don't have a support group that is close. I am considering Overeaters Anonymous. Has anyone else used them and does the same principles work with the band? Are weight loss people welcome at OA? Or if you know of a support group near The Woodlands, Kingwood, Humble, New Caney or Porter in Texas...I would be love to know.

Thanks!

Does your physician's office offer a group? OA may help, I think the 12 steps can help with anything so they should help your eating and exercising plan. Good luck!

I would think any support is better than no support. If you can't find a support group for banded folks, I would go to the OA meetings. Make sure to call any local practices and ask if they have any support groups that someone can attend, even if they were not banded at the practice.

Good Idea - I assumed that support groups were only for a particular surgeon. There is one at the local hospital but not my surgeon. Apparently my surgeons office no longer provides it because it wasn't popular. True Results in Houston offers it...but that is pretty far for me.

Pollyanna - that is kind of what i was thinking...something is better than nothing.

My practice gave me a complete list for groups all across Oregon, so I am assuming there are some groups that wouldn't mind. I hope you find one soon :)
