April Bandsters!

Hey Ladies and Gents!

Having my Surgery done April 4th. Starting my Pre op diet tomorrow. They said Protein shake for Breakfast, small low fat/sugar lunch, Protein Shake for dinner until surgery. Any suggestions for the low fat/sugar lunch suggestions?

Im heading down to LA to get it done. They will arrange for me to be driven to and from there as I live in San Jose, Ca. My hubby is going to come with me for support. Hopefully they will give me enought pain meds for the ride home. Heh Woot! I'll be a Hollywood starlet by next summer haha!

So who else is getting banded in April? I could use a band-buddy for my journey!

I'm on the other side resting pretty comfortably in my hospital room. Not too much pain just taking it easy.

  • April 20th here.... was approved right away. The doctor's office called and I am scheduled for April 20th. Start pre-op diet on April 6th. So excited

Hello all. I was banded this morning' date=' everything went really well. The worst pain is the gas pain in my chest, I feel like a blimp lol. I have an on Q pain pump attached to my stomach and I've been taking my liquid lortab to keep the pain at bay. I've been sipping liquids & sf hello but I'm afraid to take too much, I'm trying tovavoid having anything come back up! I hope everyone else is doing great![/quote']

Omg chest pain is the worst !

I can't do anything to stop it sit stand lay

I have a question for everyone that has been banded. How long did the soreness last? I mean how many days after surgery was it before the soreness was completely gone?

mom of 3 :)

I'm hopeful that it will nit last long

Walk around and take the pain meds. Thats all that will help. Just keep walking.

Eggzy, my gas pains are all but gone today. Something that seemed to help me was laying down with my legs propped up higher than my chest. I hope you start feeling better soon!

Got banded yesterday, all went well not too much pain, did alot of walking. Woke up 3:25 this morning needing pain meds, took then an hour later started throwing up. Called Dr. now back at the hospital, xray was good. Getting ready for surgery to remove fluid from port. Too tight for even water to get thru.

@twins for me... Keep us posted how you are doing

yikes! Can't just remove the fluid without surgery? poor thing. Let us know how you're doing.

well, I'm down a size in jeans! Just barely - and I wouldn't say all 18's fit, but these I'm wearing today do. Woo hoo.

Today's the day! I'm scared and freaking out a bit. Especially after the posts yesterday. I know this will all be worth it in the end though! Thanks for every1's encouragements. I will let you all know as soon as I can!

You'll do just fine. :)

So the pain I mentioend earlier nd said was almost non existent..is raring its ugly head..waiting for nurse with the drugs lol. Just now was given my clear liquids and will see what I can get down.

Day 3 seems to be the worst for pain.

I'm in. Got the heparin shot in the abdomen. Have my I.v. In. I'm still nervous and scared! I'm doing this, I'm really doing this! I've got about an hour before I go into the o.r.

Got down about half cup of beef broth..a 4oz Italian ice...and 6oz of water...took about hour to get thru it. Surgeon came in to check on me...asked if I was keeping it down I said yes..she said go home! This after telling me I would prob stay two nights..so I'm thrilled. Waiting for hubby to get here..should b gone in about an hour. Can't wait to get home.

It seems like some doctors like to keep people overnight, and others would rather have them out the door as soon as they are awake.
