What To Expect With First Fill?

Recommended Posts

Hi all - just wanted your thoughts on what I can expect with my first fill? I think I might be expecting too much as far as restriction goes....also, I'm such a wimp with needles...does it hurt??

My doctor numbs the area up, and that's the worst part, tiny poke, but the medicine stings for a couple of second. After that, I feel nothing.

Also, absolutely no restriction after my first 3 cc fill. Not much restriction after my second fill of 1.2 cc's. Maybe three will be the charm!

My first was 2cc's and no restriction. It didn't hurt me just a tiny pinch. My doc made me put my hands behind my head and put my legs up like doing a leg lift and before I knew it he was done. My second last week was 3cc's. I have a little restriction but not there yet. Maybe the third times the charm!

My dr had me lay down blow up my stomach stuck needle it did hurt as much as a lot of shots do. Put in 2 cc I could feel a strange tightening in stomach not unpleasant. Sr had me air up sip 3 sips of Water no problems. I did get restriction. More on 2 wk. and in green now 4 weeks.

Xavier, I envy you! Here I am still trying for that green zone 13 months out. She gave me a tiny fill today, .1 cc. I wish I could come up to the lady you go to!

No pain, don't even feel the needle. Worst experience I have ever had with a fill was when I spotted a spider crawling across the surgeon's roof while I was lying down, waiting for the needle.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
