I haven't noticed anyone talking about bananas. Any issues with them? I was thinking that a ripe (soft) banana and Peanut Butter might be a satisfying lunch. Thoughts?

That does sound yummy! Wonder if the Peanut Butter might be an issue?

I'm in mushies, but still have not tried either! Sounds like an awesome combo. Actually Peanut Butter is on my Drs menu but bananas aren't... Hmmm

Well my thoughts would be you would have to eat a lot of Peanut Butter to get the Protein equivelant of 3 oz of chicken. Which would mean a loooootttt of fat and calories. If you do want Peanut Butter I recommend PB2. They grind the peanuts and remove the fat and you are left with dry peanut powder. You reconstitute it by adding Water. Just defatted peanut powder with no suger added. I supposed you could add your own splendra.

Also, while I am not a fruit hater (I eat grapes and cherries when in season) bananas as high in calories which is why some doctors ban them.

I asked the PA at my surgeon's office and she said that it sounds like a great snack, but not really enough Protein for a meal. For a snack I would probably do half a banana and a tbsp of PB since both are high in calories.

There are days after a good workout{hour of cardio and weights} I feel I need more then just a Protein Shake, my Breakfast consists of a chocolate shake made with skim plus milk, a tablespoon of Peanut Butter and a half of a very small bananna with crushed ice blended. I mentioned this to my nutritionist and she was fine with it. I don't do it every day but it's a nice treat as the FF milk, bananna & PB adds calories. Only when my FitBit tells me I've gone over the amount of my daily intake, I'll do it. :-)

both bananas and Peanut Butter are listed on my mushie list.....I would melt the peanut butter in the microwave and then drizzel it over 1/2 a banana. You really wouldn't be using a large amount and will be able to satisfy your craving (if that is what it is)

I got horribly stuck on a banana after my 2nd or 3rd fill. They are a hit and miss food for me. When they get stuck, the cause me so much heartburn that I don't even try any more. After that episode, I didn't eat them again for a year. Then I was OK until my last fill. After puking up a whole banana, I am just not interested any longer.

Gosh, I've written them so far out of my diet, I don't even list them when people ask what foods I can't eat. I suppose I need to list them!

Until I had good restriction, I ate a banana at least once a week. Now though, they can get stuck easier, as I have 8.0 cc in my band. I try to limit them on the advice of my surgeons office.

Up until now I've enjoyed them...but now scared to eat them. Btw, my very first stuck episode was on homemade banana bread.

Enjoy them now (I love bananas smeared in peanut butter!) but know that you may have to limit them in the future.

I have a half of a whole wheat waffle topped with a little Peanut Butter and very thin banana slices and maybe a tiny drizzle of honey and I stay satiated for quite a while I might even have to come back to it later for a snack. My doctor explained to me if you chew everything til it liquifies in ur mouth then you should be fine and I've found that to be true. I'm not gonna lie... My mom fixed me a NEw York steak and I sliced it thin and chewed it up and I'm fine. I eat what I feel is right. Chew chew!

I LOVE bananas! My favorite way is to slice 1/2 of a banana in a (vanilla) Protein Drink with a little Hershey's cocoa powder and blend it up real good. I do this regularly - YUM!!! Can also add 1 or 2 Tbsp PB (be sure to add it's Protein to your count) & be sure to blend well!!! This is a good "trick" if you need just a little more protein for the day. ENJOY!!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
