Band Removal While Pg?

Recommended Posts

I want this thing out NOW, and there is a possibility I could already be PG. I do NOT want to go through a PG esp with a sore PORT for 4 yrs. Will a doc take the band out if I'm already PG???

You can have surgery while you are pregnant, but there is an increase risked of spontaneous abortion (miscarriage) in the first and second trimester.

What I'm a little scared about is after 4 yrs I still have port pain. Fills are excruciating. I can only imagine what a baby pushing on it is gn to feel like. My doc is an idiot and the answer I got for why? Is " uhhhhhh I don't know why it hurts..."

I'm gng to switch to ppo tomorrow so I can go where I want and not have to see military docs.

I've been recently having reflux more often than ever and its concerning me.

I want more answers and the doc I'm seeing is not doing it.

Have you considered getting the port relocated?

I would maybe try a port relocation before trying to remove the band if you are pg.

My port stuck out sooooo bad so I had it moved under my muscle but then fills became too painful and I nearly passed out each time.

So I had my port moved again after 16 months and now it is in a good spot, fills are a breeze ( my doc poked me and I didnt even realize it, I was still freaking bout the fill hurting and he said well im halfway done the fill already).

Where is your port btw?

I wouldn't want to risk the baby's life or health with general anesthesia or even the other meds related to surgery. Have you taken a pg test?

Sounds like you've got to get your port moved and your fill removed. I'm not sure if the can move the port while u are preggers, mine was done first. I had most of the fill out at the beginning of my pregnancy and now my baby is 1, I'll be getting filled up.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
