Daily Caloric Intake

Recommended Posts

What is a good daily -aloric intake? I have started watching calories real close the past two days and the site Im using says I should consume 1200calories a day! i personally have not hit that but am beginning to wonder will my body go into starvation mode if I stay around the 875-900 calories a day?? Im determined to loose weight this month as I think Im very close to my green zone!

thanks for the replies!!

I've had the same concerns. The last time I met with my dietician she said to stick around 800, But I vary between 700 and 1200. I try to eat a different amount of calories every day and it seems to be working great.

I try for 1000-1200 calories a day but every once and a while will go over it to shock my body! It has been working for me! I also do not look at fat or carbs though. Just calories and protein!

I changed my MFP to 900 cal a day, and some times i go over, some times a little less, as I have no idea of what i am eating. I do NOT weight every spoonful of cashup or whatever I may season my food with, so the things I know, I lowered it to 900. This way I stay within range.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
