I will be having my first fill today at 5pm and im so scared. I get so weak when my belly button is touched. I mean really sick to my stomach so I nervous about that in addition to feeling any kind of pain and my pouch being filled too much.

Well, I have no advice on the belly button thing, but it wasn't really that painful. Just a needle prick. And some people get to their green zone on their first fill, but I certainly did not. It was like not having any fill at all.

Good luck!

I really hope I get to my green zone i"ve been so hungry lately. I had my surgery Feb 4 and now my appetite has come back full force. Don't understand it. Anywhoo thanks and good luck to you as well.

You were probably just really swollen from surgery and that decreased your hunger. Once that swelling went away, you were hungry again. I think that's pretty normal!

Remember that it's a process to get to the green zone. After my first fill, I felt restriction for a couple days and then it went away. I've had my second fill and can definitely tell I have restriction, but I think I can handle more. Some people are done in 1 fill, others in 10.

I will provide a update after my first fill. Hopefully i will have restriciton.

Ok do I had my first fill today and was given 3cc's. I have to do liquids for 2 days then mushy foods for 2 days. I gained 3lbs :( but was told its normal. I thought I would hurt but I felt no pain. I go back in 3 weeks for my 2nd fill.

I just got back from having my first fill (5cc) - it was SO easy, I could not believe that it really did not hurt AT ALL!!! I also got a bandaid, cup of Water, and a "see you in 6 weeks" - lol. I am on liquids for a few days, then mushies. I couldn't be happier. I cannot wait to have that "full" feeling on a teensy, tiny bit of food. I am so looking forward to eating like a petite little flower - ha ha. I honestly can't tell any difference from the fill - still chugging water like I did before. Hopefully, I will get full fast when I start mushies. I actually want to get sick just one time so I get too scared to let it happen again - lol. :)

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
