I am so NOT looking forward to having one of thes episodes after I am banded next week. mellow.png I am thankful for these forums, because One post that has stuck with me since I read it (sometime last year) from a guy (can't remember who?) was about this same topic. He said, just as Denise said in this post, that he found that he could eat most anything he wanted but he key is to wait after you swallow a bite. Give it some time to get all the way down. He originally thought he was fine to take another bite after he first swallowed, and thought it was all the way down, but he found out differntly. I am trying to take all of this good advice and remind myself of it each time I take a bite.

I know I may not be immune to every having a stuck episode, but I will sure try my best to heed all the warnings I have read about. Thanks, Denise for all of your good advice I read on these forums from time to time. I appreciate all of the tips and advise given by the veterans...and everyone else too. I wish you all much success. rolleyes.gif

Just don't be so fast to eat something you shouldn't...I was making my own vegtable stock ( during my full liquid period) and thought a potatoe that was almost like mush wouldn't hurt..but I think I was so excited about it that I didn't mash it well enough..for me it felt like I swollowed a orange !

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
