I know I have seen something on the Realize band on here before, but I can't find it again! Anyone here have the Realize band or is everybody Lapbanded? I am hoping to find out if the experience is similar to what I am reading here. If you have the Realize Band I would love to hear from you! Getting mine on Monday!!!!!

Hi Kathy,

I have a Realize band. It was installed 2/1, just about 2 weeks ago. My surgeon uses both Realize and Lapband products and says he doesn't see a difference in the results with either band, but believes the Realize is better suited to certain anatomical shapes. Since I trusted his expertise, I left the decision about wt band to use up to him and he went with the Realize. I haven't had it long and haven't been filled yet, but I've had no problems.

I have had the realize band for about 14 months and I have had no problems with it

I have had the Realize band for 6 weeks and no problem also. My surgeon likes them better, something to do with less complications. However she still uses the Lap Band on very large men (it comes in 14cc?) if they need that size. No problems with mine.

I have the Realize band for over two years now. No problems! I think I have about 7cc in a 9cc band.

I have realize. I interviewed a doctor who said they're pretty much the same, it's just some doctors who learned the procedure with the lap band prefer lap band and those who learned using the realize band prefer the realize.

I have the realize too, my surgeon uses both. I chose the realize band because the port size is smaller than that of the lapband. My surgeon asked if I plan on getting a Tummy Tuck. I told him it was possible, he recommended the realize band because of it's size and the size of my stomach. The lapband is larger and normally used for larger people. Also, the realize band has been around the longest worldwide (created in Europe) where the lapband has the most longevity in the US.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
