My daughter in law ahd 2 babies after a full body lift. she does not have a saggy anything after the babies. She blew up like a ballon and gained leg weight which now is gone, but her waist maintained. So, wont affect the babies. Now when she asked about a tubal ligation she does need a different procedure because of the tummy tuck- from what they normally do.

Have u explored getting your flat tummy by using say a personal trainer, I would have thought that at 24 yrs you may stand a chance of getting a nice flat tummy with some form of specialised exercise. It sounds like you would like a lot of surgery but maybe or at least some of it could be avoided. Good luck with it :)

Star... i went two weeks ago for a consult. $8800..sad.png

You should really talk it over with your PS. I'm old (43) and can't have any more kids (two boys 27 & 20). Both via C-section. Plus i had a hysterectomy and gallbladder removal... plus the LB... so my stomach is full of scars..... but i'm glad that i don't have any stretch marks except by my pubic area...

PS told me that for having the WLS I have done really well. Most of the people have huge amounts of extra skin. He said he could tell i lost it slow and that i exercised along the way.

But, he said no amount of exercise or sit up, crunches... would ever make my apron go away..... so... Looks like feb. 17th i will be getting it cut off....

Good luck with what you decide....

So Bandstarr, is your ticker out of date or do you still need to lose 60 pounds? If you are in range of normal BMI with about 80 pounds lost, as young as you are are you sure you need it? On the other hand this is your young and beautiful years so you should look as good as you can and you certainly deserve it! You should definitely not worry about whatever happens with pregnancy etc...

Hi you seem to be doing great! I had a body lift about 3 months ago hopefully a good amount of the skin will snap back but much depends on your skin type and I think how long you have been overweight. A good PS will give you the proper advice as to if you should wait until after you have kids or not. I know my PS does a lot of Mommy Makeovers " Tummy Tuck" after a few kids especially if one has twins etc.

I was always a fat kid and lost 100 lbs when I was your age, than over the next 25 put gained and lost over and over, I was looking at some pictures from my honeymoon and although at 54 I weigh a bit more than I did when I got married my stomach now after my Body lift is better than when I was 25.

So you have a lot to look forward too, Just make sure to talk to at least 3 or 4 PS and get recommendations from your lapband dr and your PCP.

Good luck to you

I work for a plastic surgeon and the first question we ask patient when inquiring about the abdominoplasty is "have you had children?, if so are you finished?"

I don't think you should do it unless you choose not to have children....

if you have children you will re-stretch your skin and will probably need another surgery in the future... You should wait unless you have a panniculectomy... It's when they remove the excess skin that hangs... In most cases insurance companies will cover it. Good luck sweetie :) I also plan on having surgery soon just wanna get to my ideal weight first.

panniculectomy is covered by insurance? I thought no way. there must be a way it must be presented?

Yes it can be covered! We see patient all the time who get approved. You must see you PCP and a dermatologist state it bothers you... Gives you rash, gets irritated... And as long as you get it documented and it's deemed medically necessary... Then your company should approve it... If denied, you can appeal by sending pictures and writing them a letter.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
