can someone try to help me. i was banded in july 2010. have only lost 50 lbs and have been stuck since sept 2011. have not been able to really keep food down so if i vomitted, i would get hungry and end up having coffee and dessert since i never had a problem keeping that down. knowing that this is not the right way to live i went back to the doctor on monday and they removed 1cc bringing me to 6.4cc. i know feel the total opposite. i can eat everything in sight. i feel horrible. i dont know not having any restriction at all. i have alredy made an appt for feb 10 to get a fill. how can 1 cc make that much of a difference. i dont have any problems eating anything... its so weird. i havent eaten for months and now in a flip of a switch, i can eat anything and feel that it is never enough. has anyone ever gone through this.

There is a possibility you could have had a tiny slip in you band which caused all the tightness and vomiting. So removing 1 cc could have put it back in proper position. 1cc is a lot when you start toggling around your sweet spot. Get filled under the fluoroscope when you go back in in feb. watch your portions till then! :)

Most if not all bariatric surgeons will have a fluoroscope in their office to fill under. It's basically and X-ray and you drink barium as they watch and fill you under e X-ray they can see the barium going through your band. Ask your doctor if they have one!

1 cc doesnt sound a lot but it is when u are close to your green zone fill, if they put back 0.5 it will probably do the trick for you, my last fill was 0.3 as i am very close to my green zone too. I did hit my green zone before christmas but have lost weight again since then so needed a little top up :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
