Good luck Jim, it does seem like a lot to lose when u first start out but just follow the rules, keep your calories burned more than calories eaten i am sure you will be fine. Hell i managed it :)

Hi Jim, I know how you feel. I have around 200 to lose too. There are people on here who have lost more than that, like Cazzy, and they are great inspirations to me. I think if you believe you can do it, you can. Good luck!

When we need to lose over 200lbs the weight generally does come off quicker but that is only initially after that its all hard work from there but worth every bit of work.

Its only recently that i actually started to feel like i am not 'fat' any more.

I need to lose a few lbs more but now its slow, but to lose only just a lb at this weight notices much more than it did when i first started, when it was just a 'drop in the ocean'

I used to wear 6XL t shirts to hide myself under, now i wear L and share t-shirts with my other half lol his wardrobe is mine now ...:)

Good luck to all the 'bigger' banders !

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
