The surgery went great! I went at 630 am left 8-9am I went home to bed picked up pain Meds and nausea Meds on way home. I had ice packs Hp, gas x strips, Protein Drinks, Soups ect. Prestocked. I had light pain on my left side( port side for me) so laid on right side with HP on left back area and ice pack as needed on front. I did take pain med every 4 hrs not the 6 hrs on btl. I wanted to stay on top of so too 1/2 doses not recommended! 3 day I was up and around feeling good. I had foot surgery on 30th.

I quit smoking 7 months ago and I'm SO glad I did. I absolutely love being a non-smoker.

I used ecigs to quit. Specifically ProSmoke: http://www.prosmokestore.com/

I essentially used them as a nicotine replacement. It's smokeless cigarettes. You inhale Water vapor instead of smoke. I started smoking them like "normal" cigarettes and slowly tapered off. Within 2 months, I wasn't using the ecigs anymore either.

I tried to quit for years. I tried Patches, gum, and yes even Chantix. For me, the ecigs is what finally worked.

Best wishes to you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
