I eat about a cup at a time. I also eat six times a day, a couple of those it is less than a cup. My body likes it and it has worked well for me.

Yes, much of the time I can eat 1/2c of solid food and be satisfied for hours. If I eat Soup it's more, but still have to stop if the soup is chunky after 1/2c of the solid parts. I eat 3-5 times a day depending on the day.

I am exactly like hummingbird. I do liquids in the morning, 1/2 cup meals during the day and have to be careful in the evening when my band is looser. I feel I am at perfect restriction for me and that this life is pretty easy for me now.

I don't measure my food, but with the restriction I have I can only eat 1/2 to 1 cup. Depending on what it is. If I try to force it, it will only result in pain. Probably stretching the pouch or pressure on the band.

I don't count calories. Since my portion size is under control, all I need to do is make good food choices.

I don't measure my food. How much I can eat varies from day to day for me. There are days I can only eat a little and days where I can eat a little more.

after counting calories for what feels like FOREVER, not having to do so is gonna be awesome!!

It varies for me too, depending on the day and the food. Last Friday I couldn't get full, but stopped myself at 1300 calories (my daily norm is under 1000- I track most days, but do have one 'cheat day' every couple of weeks where I don't track). As I'm typing this, I've just finished my lunch which was 1/4 cup of hummus with 1/2 a small bell pepper and I can't eat another bite.

If you do decide to go the route of measuring, eat off little dishes and eat slowly. Looking at 1/2 cup of food on a big plate is just discouraging! But if it's in a tiny bowl and you try to make it last 15 minutes, you'll get bored about halfway through!

My band is not really that tight- I can eat as much of any food I want with no sticking or vomiting, but I choose not to (most of the time!). If I'm not paying attention, I can eat and eat, but if I take my time and focus on how I'm feeling, a small amount of food does just fine for me. I do "eat" more than 3 times per day- if I do liquids at Breakfast, I have a mid-morning snack and sometimes in the afternoon I have a calorie-containing beverage.

But when I was losing, I was lucky to eat 1/2 a cup 3 times a day. I ate less than my (then) 3 year old. Now though, 4 years on, it varies. Some days, I'd be lucky to eat a cup of food all day. Other days I could easily eat 5 cups. I let my band dictate how much I eat now. But nowhere do I eat the amounts even near to what I used to pre-band.

You'll be surprised how little food you can actually survive on. My partner never knew me before I lost weight, and he always says he cannot believe how little I eat and still have the boundless amounts of energy I seem to have! He eats four times and much and is always tired, it seems.

I NEVER eat that little , or at least i don't think I do , can't be sure as I never measure it. I put the food on a plate and judge it that way.

I measure solid protein; my doctor says 3 oz. I then eat veggies until full. I would say that is more than 1/2 cup. Heck the Protein alone is prob. 1/2 a cup.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
