I am now 5 days post-op and still following my liquid diet. Has anyone else had problems with just feeling weak? I have no energy whatsoever and just feel completely drained. I figure its from the very low calorie intake but just want to see if other people have experienced this and that it is normal to feel this way. Other than that though my recovery is going very well so I can't complain!

Are you getting the proper amount of Protein Shakes per day ? I was very tired and had no energy the first 2days, but it picked up when my nutritionist told me I wasn't getting enough protien shakes a day. So I went from one 8oz shake to 3 aday . Lots of Water. 1/2cup of chicken broth. And V8 juice.< /p>

Just had the surgey on the 14th ... took me a good 5-7 days to start feeling back to normal. Even now almost 3ks past and I am feeling weaker from not being able to work out or do normal "engerizing" ;) activities. it will get better just bare with it!

Not being able to eat wholesome meals has been very difficult for me. I get lightheaded, dizzy, and weak when I do not eat properly. I am five days post-op and already tired of freakin Protein Shakes. I need something high in sodium to keep my hunger from going crazy. Although I craze solids, I'm afraid of having any so I don't vomit and end up slipping the band or something. It's more than likely you're not getting enough protein/vitamins/ etc.

Are you allowed Soup? Soup was what made the difference for me.It tasted like food which all those sweet Protein Shakes didn't. Once I was allowed it then the nausea stopped. I ate homemade veggie Soups with added lentils, Beans etc in for protein( as per my nutritionists instructions). All prepared and frozen prior to surgery

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
