11 Days Post Lap Band Surgery And Feeling Pretty Good

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to check in, feeling so much better today, can't wait to go to the dr tomorrow for my post op. I'm hoping he tells me i can have soft foods. I'm so sick of Protein Shakes I could kick someone. i've been trying to fill my port but i can't seem to find it, i'm beginning to wonder if dr really did put the band in..lol..I will come back tomorrow to post my weight loss. I hope that all my Dec bandsters are doing well...

Hey I am glad to hear from someone going throught the same things. I am on day 6 and really tired of broth and Protein Shakes and juice. It stinks watching my family eat and eat and eat. I see the dr Thursday and I am hoping for pureed food maybe a little yougurt, cream of wheat or pureed anything. i don't even know which side my port is on. I 4 cuts about 1 inch long and one big one about 2 inches long. You made it to day 11 so congrats!

My consultation is January 6. I've been thinking about this for a year. My previous insurance would not cover it, but after a move and a new job, my current insurance will. I'm so excited and so proud of all of you who have gone through the process. I am almost afraid to think it might actually happen. Whoo Hoo! Best of luck to you in 2012. I am thinking about you and praying for you :)

Hi, I'm 8 days post op. A lot less sore than I was. Today I'm suffering with painful-extreme gas in my chest area. OMG, please tell me there's a cure.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
