New To Lap Band Surgery

I was told by my GP that the requirement for lap band has changed and I am a great canidate for the procedure. I had my first appointment lat week and the wheels are spinning very fast. I already have appointments setup with the nutritionist and phsyc eval. Do things like this go this fast aand then does everything halt do to insurance?
