First Time Stuck....ughhhhhh

Recommended Posts

Ok, so this is my own fault, I got distracted, took way to big of a bite and didn't chew enough. I felt it immediately and that was about 2 hours ago. The bad pain stopped but I still feel terrible. How long before this tightness in my chest goes away???? Oh and I'm 2 weeks post op

Hard to say. Some people recommend chewing papaya tablets. Are you eating solids? My doctor did not allow solids until week 5. If you had a bad stuck episode you may be very swollen tomorrow. I would go back to full liquids for one day, and then eat mushies for another week. I was on mushies week 3 and 4. Week three was cottage and ricotta and week four canned chicken.< /p>

I start solids Monday, I actually got stuck on Mushies lol I must be special. It was a meatball that I kinda mush with a fork but I just didn't chew a bite well. I'm starting to feel ok now and I think I will stick to liquids tomorrow. Thanks!

Meatballs aren't really mushy.Mushies are things like mashed vegies, tinned fish etc. Meatballs are really dry and hard . Try sucking on crushed ice, if you are swollen it will help to make the swelling go down.

That's not a Mushie ! ! at all.....

You are swollen, and should stay on Liquids for a couple days.

Elcee took the words out of my mouth LOL Crushed Ice, and gently let it melt at the back of your throat, and go down, and help the swelling.

Don't think about solid foods yet. You will get there ! For now a couple days of liquids, a day of mushies, then try food.

Good Luck, Shirley.

Thanks everyone for the input. I'm much better today! I know every doctor and nutritionist is different, but my nutritionist did tell me that I could have a meatball in the mushy stage as long as I mushed it with my fork. Obviously didn't go too well lol today I stuck to Protein Shakes and a little cottage cheese, , lesson learned!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
