  1. Haha thank you both, I loveeee the my fitness pal app, very helpful. I do have an appointment on sept 11 so I can discuss it then. Although I feel that my portions, haven't changed from before, I could always be wrong though.
  2. Hi everyone! I will have been banded a year the end of November. I was a pound away from 40 lost for about 2 weeks. I would work out anywhere from 3-4 times a week, mostly cardio. I went on vacation and then took another week off from the gym. I started up again this week and I've been up an extra 3-4 pounds! All I've done since I've been back to the gym is te elliptical, so disappointing to keep being up instead of losing, any thoughts?? And I have been eating healthy.
  3. Congrats on your restriction! I will definitely post how it goes on Monday I'm so excited =)
  4. Hi all!!! I have my third fill Monday and I can't wait! I'm at 4.5 cc's in a 10cc band. I have little restriction and any weight I lose is from counting calories and walking on the treadmill. I know it will get better when I hit restriction. I was just wondering at what amount did people feel good restriction? I know everyone is different and will have different levels but im just curious =)
  5. Yes!!!!!!! I was literally just telling my family this the other day! I have dreams of cake and all other bad things I can't have, it's so funny!
  6. Totally normal! I've had 2 fills and I'm still having to count calories and have discipline. It will come in time everyone's different. From what I've read on here some people have restriction right alway, and for some it takes time. My surgeon told me that some people do gain weight between surgery and their fill. Good luck stay positive =)
  7. I started Zumba this week,, I'm sure it will help. My only problem is that im only a little over 2 months out of surgery and my port site was hurting so I had to take it a little easy.
  8. Wow 54Shirley that's crazy!!
  9. Agreed! I was banded on 11/18 had my first fill on 12/19... 3ccs in a 10cc band,,, I also can still eat pretty much anything but I'm counting calories to help... I'm getting my second fill Tuesday hopefully I'll have more restriction!! And yes it's normal for your appetite to increase before your first fill
  10. Hmmm I'm going to ask my surgeon I see him on Tuesday! I'll post what he says about this!!
  11. Thanks! I guess as long as it doesn't cause any probs it's fine
  12. Hi all!! So I made a protein shake smoothie for dinner,, I like to add ice and about a tablespoon of peanut butter and blend to make it really thick. I completely forgot and started sipping through a straw. I didn't realize till about halfway through and then I stopped. Now I remember the nutritionist saying not to drink through a straw because you will get too much of a drink at once. But I was sipping really slow and didn't have any negative reaction to the straw. Is it normal that I can drink through the straw? I am also not at full restriction yet,, maybe that's why??
  13. Thanks I will try that!!
  14. All very true, thanks for the responses! Sometimes u just gotta vent ya know
  15. Hi all!! I was banded on 11/18/11. I lost about 5 pounds post surgery and have literally been stuck there for a month! I got my first fill on 12/19 of 3cc in a 10 cc band. I recently started going to the gym about 5 days a week just walking and doing the elliptical. I also used myfitnesspal and post to keep about 1000 calories a day. I'm still stuk at the same weight,, could my body still be adjusting, not only to surgery but to working out and eating less calories? Also me calories ate not all carbs at all!! What do you guys think? Its so discouraging to be putting so much into this and have the scale not move, especially so early on! Any tips are greatly appreciated!
  16. I've tried the chocolate flavor..... Alone I didn't really love the taste but you kinda get used to it.. What I used to do was throw in about a tablespoon of peanut butter and blend it all up with Ice and that tasted really good! The only thing I hate is that its soo expensive!
  17. Thanks for your response...I'm so glad to feel some restriction, just thought it was weird that it took more then a week after my fill to feel this.
  18. I got my first fill on 11/19. 3cc's in a 10cc band. My surgeon told me that I might only feel restricted the first few days, which I did. Then came the holidays, I def ate less but had some sweets that I know I shouldnt have. Anyway I'm back on track and I feel like I feel the fill more now! It took me time to drink my protein shake this morning and I just made eggs for lunch n I realllly had to take my time! This is a welcome surprise but how is it possible that I feel more restricted now, over a week later?
  19. Well I'm almost 5 weeks post op,,, I had my first fill on Monday. I lost 10 pounds pre op and then another 5 since surgery and I've been stuck at this weight since about 3 weeks post op. my surgeon didnt seem worried about it. My first fill was 3 cc's, which I def felt the first few days,, but now it's kinda back to normal and my scale is still not moving! My surgeon did tell me it can take atleast 2-3 fills before you start to loose consistently but has anyone else had this problem? I'm starting to get nervous that I'll be that one in few people that this won't work for.
  20. Thanks! Im going to go get it now!!
  21. Hi everyone!! I'm one month post op, and I just forgot to ask my surgeon this question... Have any of you put a cream like mederma in the incision? I'm healing well, but I've had people tell me different things about putting anything on the scar. Should I just leave it alone or can I start putting something on it?
  22. I would like to know this too! I also heard its hat to digest
  23. Sorry to hear about that Joan =( wishing u a speedy recovery from surgery and I'm sure you'll stay motivated!
