Im starving and very weak and shaky. Its been 6 full fays now and I see others on here are on full liquids and even some puree after 4 days! Iv lost 16 pounds but I don't know if I can do this 2 more days.

Have you called your doctor to check in and let them know how awful you are feeling? Maybe they will have a good suggestion for you.. Good luck friend, I hope you feel better soon!

Definitely call your doc and see if you can progress to full liquids. Also, have you tried any of the clear liquid Protein drinks? You can find them at GNC, Vitamin Shoppe and I'm sure other places. I have only tried one and I didn't like it all. The brand was Iso... something in the fruit punch flavor. I would think that you would feel a lot better if you had some Protein to nourish your body.

Good luck!

Never heard of anyone having to be on clear liquids for that long. For me, it was 24 hrs then to full liquids for a week, then a week of mushy, week of soft, then regular. Definately worth a phone call...you can't recover if you're weak and sick.

Can you all believe they told me no! Not even the protien shakes. Not till the doc clears me tomorrow. I have to suffer thru another day of broth and Jello. Today is my 8th day!

Hi there, I was also banded on Thursday 13 October, and my experience has been slightly different. I was put on clear liquids on the day of the op and then allowed full liquids from the 2nd day. For a week. I then go onto pureed foods for a week and then onto solid foods. For the first 2 days post op I was fine on the liquids now I'm just frigging hungry!!!! Please can we stay in touch seeing that we got banded at the same time.

I was banded on Oct. 12 and I'm still on a liquid diet. My diet consists of Water and 3 Protein shakes a day. I was also on this diet for the week prior to my banding. So I'm really getting ready for something more. I go tomorrow for my post op appointment. I sure hope we can move this forward.

Good luck to all!

Cyndy

I was banded 10/10. Day 1: Liquid Days 2-14: Full Liquid

I didn't make it the entire time on the full liquids. I felt sick...queezy, shakes, headaches and I have 3 kiddos to keep up with. I added a small amount of cottage cheese, Protein shakes and flaked fish. It helped so much in my opinion. Today is my 2 week check up and I'm looking forward to moving things along.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
