I really don't know what to do. This is kind of related to my lap band, but not fully. I have been in so much pain the last 3 days that I can barely do anything. It's all centered in my upper back and whenever I eat anything it gets worse. I had been popping advil or other over the counter pill every 3 hours and that does nothing. The thing is I really want to ask my Dr for real pain pill, I have had pain like this a lot, but I don't know how? Any advice? I just can't wait any longer, I have tried serious stretching but that only relieves the pain for a couple seconds.

Why aren't you talking to your doctor about this?

Anti inflamatories can cause erosion so I'd be careful with those. I'd call your doctor and schedule an appointment with the chiropractor. Or a massage. I'm on my feet all day, sometimes for 10 hours straight- I'm a hair stylist, and both of those really help me when my back is hurting.hope you get some relief soon!

Try placing a heating pad on your shoulders. The pain may be from the gas they use to inflate your belly when they do laproscopic surgery and it really hurts as it moves around in your body.If this doesn' t make it go away after a few days then call the doctor,My back/shoulder pain lingered around about 4-5 weeks after surgery.Don't keep taking the aspirin/pain killers though because you an cause serious damage like band erosion.

Definately sounds like gallbladder issues. You need to get that checked out. If it results in a lot of vomiting, you'll be at risk of your band slipping.

Hey thanks for all your comments. I actually had a fill scheduled for this morning. As soon as the np put the scoop under she could tell there was a serious problem, she said I was extremely ( sorry for the detail) backed up and that it was pushing on my stomach and band putting pressure on my back. She took over a cc out and I felt so much better. I am just worried now that I won't have good restriction and will gain weight. Anyway she said to take maralax and a probiotoic every day for now on.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
