I have an appointment on the 6th.. they put 4cc in the first visit. I am feeling pretty good. I don't have trouble with any foods and never feel really "full" but I feel great and have been losing regularly. Are you all planning on getting the second fill? I was thinking of waiting since the weight is coming off..

I had my surgery Aug. 19, and just this last Friday 9/24 had my first fill, 1.6cc is what I had put in, and that was enough to notice a difference, so far I'm down 23lbs.

I'm hopefully getting my first fill Oct 19th. My surgeon won't do fills until 8 weeks post op. I haven't lost in over a week and also feel I can eat anything.

I just recieved my first fill today and my surgeon put in 2cc's. My surgery was 8/11/11. He also advised that if I feel that I need another fill call the office in a month and schedule an appointment. I see now that my surgeon is a slow boogey type of guy.

Have had 2 fills and a 3rd is scheduled for 10/19. My surgery was 8/4. I definately noticed the difference after the 2nd fill. I have a 10cc band and currently have 4 cc's in fills (2 each fill). Doctor is pleased as I have now lost 40 pounds.

My first fill will be in a bit over a week. I'm maintaining a loss of 35 lbs. but not losing. I can eat nothing right now, but I've managed to keep with the rules pretty well.

Surgery was 8/12--14cc band with 5cc. 1st fill was 9/12, 3cc (total of 8cc). 2nd fill 9/28 of 2cc (total of 10cc) I still do not feel any restriction. Hopefully, the third time will be a charm...

What is the liquid capacity a band can hold?? 10cc's? I now have 3 cc's and I go back in 4 weeks. If I am losing weight I dont know if my doctor will give me a fill. He thinks all is good if the weight is coming off!

It depends there are many volumes, I know mine is a 11 cc band

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
