Hi Anthony!

Sure you will do fine and congratulation! Make sure you get today "Chewable GasX" Overall the pain is not bad but I got some strange pain into my shoulders! IT WAS GAS! So make sure to have it next to your bed in addition to the pain meds which will just put you back to sleep. Really only some discomfort for the first few days but really not bad at all. I was glad someone on this site had mentioned the Gas X.

Also! Don't try to rush yourself back to real foods. Just do what they tell you, those first few weeks after surgery are key times for weight loss, i was feeling that I would never be able to eat again but truth is you will be eating again! (Real foods heather choices etc. ) So just give it time and work your self back like they tell you too. One great food was Egg Drop Soup! Lots of Protein, So when you get over the clear liquid stage etc.

Getting the band was a great decision for me and I only wish I had done it earlier in my lift.

Due touch base with me when you get out would love to chat some more.

Take Care

Thanks for the great advice. I felt pretty good until last night. Spoke to the nurse today and he says day two and three are the most uncomfortable. So Ive been taking gas x and trying to move around. Still glad I did this and know the pain is just temporary. Thanks again.

Take Care

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
