Just had a Tummy Tuck!!

Recommended Posts

Hello all -

I just had a full, extended Tummy Tuck on 9/2/11 and am VERY pleased with the results. I'm still recovering, but it's going well. I was banded in 2008 and had a heck of a time finding a surgeon who had experience with moving the lap-band port (if necessary) and who was easy to talk to and would work with me on doing one procedure at a time so I could more easily manage the financial burden of multiple procedures. Other surgeons were also a little smug and business-like for me. The PS I chose is very personable and put me at ease immediately. Hearing about his experience with bands & ports is what clinched it for me. This is one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself.

If anyone out there has questions about getting a TT (with muscle repair & port relocation), let me know! If you're in the St. Louis area, I have a FABULOUS plastic surgeon that you'll want to meet. Consults are free, of course.

Kind regards.

Ember

I am a bit afraid of having tummy tuck..I am scared for many reasons...I am afraid of the pain afterwards...I am afraid that it won;t turn out the way I imagine it, but I am most afraid my husband will look at me different..and not different in a good way...does anyone else feels this way? has anyone else felt this way?buy tadalafil and also play online poker games

If so, how did it turn out? Am I being silly?

I am having my first cosmetic surgery on Tuesday, 9/27/2011. My tummy will be tucked, the skin on my upper arms will be removed as will be excess skin on "the girls" (which will be relocated back up to where they used to be).

I am quite excited about this.

Hi Annika -

The pain afterwards is not that bad. It's a big procedure, but your PS knows that and will prescribe pain killers for you. As for your expectations, talk to your PS; he'll give you an idea of what to expect. Also, look at other before/after photos on the internet to find people with your approximate body type to get a better idea of what you can expect. Be realistic, but the changes for me have been incredible. I needed a body lift, but couldn't afford to do it all at once, so I just did an extended TT and am very pleased with the results. As for your husband, if he's a reasonable man and knows how hard you've been working to lose weight, he'll probably support your decision to pursue plastic surgery.

When did you have your lap-band surgery? Are you near your goal weight? Has your weight been stable for a long period of time? You're not being silly. Any concerns you have are real for you and being able to express them with others is what makes these forums so valuable.

Be well.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
