Flabby arms (brachioplasty)

Recommended Posts

I have recently lost 40 pounds and everyone is noticing my bat wings :( They are huggggggge!!!!! I am thinking about having Lipo for them (after I get to my goal weight). Has anyone had this surgery brachioplasty? It is basically lipo for your arms. Any input? Thanks!

You are very young, your skin still has a lot of elasticity to it. The bat wings will go away with excersise and time. I personally think that your bat wings are temporary, those scars from the operation are not! They are ugly and long, but that my opinion. I would never have it, lots of ladies do! Good luck on your decision. Karen

Brachioplasty isn't liposuction of the arms, they remove the excess skin. Arm liposuction only works if you have minimally stretched skin that is just more so full of fat. Lipo doesn't help tighten your arms back up, only a nip and tuck will do that.

I've never had one though I planned on it. My arms didn't look the best but after seriously heavy weight training, my arms look just fine.

So Reverie if I was to do serious weight training it would improve the bat wings. How if the skin is just hanging there.?

It differs per person. Mine weren't that bad. They were a little "flabby" but my skin was never sagging to the point of really needing surgery.

Most plastic surgeons want you at your goal weight for 6 months before even a consultation. Your skin can change so much even after losing weight. I have a feeling I'll have some wicked bat wings... But who knows? I'm young(ish), I'm working out and making sure I drink tons of water... Hopefully those things play in my favor :-)

Eyelids, boobs, and tummy, along with arms. And none of them hurt the way my current bunionectomy hurts!!!!!

There is something to be said for waiting a few minutes longer...I didn't wait and ended up losing more weight. There is always some PS out there waiting to take your money!!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
