Discomfort Daily - not sure where to post

Recommended Posts

I was very sensitive and had to progress very slow. I am still very sensitive to many types of foods and have to do things very slow after a fill.

Another thought is that you may have had a fill during surgery. Have you been back to see the surgeon? This would be one of those things you should really talk with him/her about. I would think you should be able to eat at least some mushy stuff at this point.

I would guess that you have had a follow up, if you did was this discussed? If not yet, you should see the doc soon. In the meantime try sipping hot tea in the A.M. I am tight in the morning and if I don't do this I have the feeling most of the day. Does doc still have you on liquids or that's all you can handle. If the later is the case you really need to contact the doc. Good Luck.

I agree with the others. Talk to your Dr. My guess is that you had a fill during surgery (active or passive fill, could be either). Ask your Dr. if s/he did a fill and if so ask them to take some out.

Some of us don't need much before we're in our green zone.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
