Good question!

I love that I can once again cross my legs.

That I no longer feel "rolls" when I run my hand down my back to my hips.

That I can see my curves.

That I can shop at "regular" stores.

That I can power walk 3 miles and then go to work.

etc., etc., etc. ... LOVE MY BAND!

I am just over 1/2 way but losing 118lbs has made a pretty big difference! I love that I dont need a seat belt extender on an air plane. I love the way my hips are slimming down and there is no fat hanging over my bra anymore but most of all I love the definition I have found again in my face. My collar bone is starting to re- surface. Its been in hiding since 1985..... I have 89 lbs to go so I will be seeing her soon.

I love all the bones that I never knew I had!

I love that I no longer have to ask for a table when I go out....I fit in the booth!

I love the reflection in the mirror, especially when I stand sideways!

I love that I can shop in regular stores and not even have try anything on...I can just buy and know it will fit!

But thing I love the most is that my thighs no longer rub together when I walk!

I'm less than a week post op but I love my face!! I look a bit younger too! I love how my bras fit now. No cutting me in half. I can't wait for the swelling to disappear.

When I look in the mirror, I love my shoulders and arms, my collarbones. I think I look very toned, very fit, but also slim and feminine, no sign of Madonna freak arms but my upper body is way more toned and slender than most people's, even people that are normal weight - simply due to the fact that I'm a classic pear shape and lost a lot of weight very easily from the upper body. When I see a photo, I look freaking skeletal, you just see what you want to see when you look in the mirror, dont you? Nonetheless, my head is goign to remain firmly in the sand and I am going to continue seeing what I want to see and ignoring the photographic evidence!

I love that I can move so much more easily now, exercise is an absolute joy and I really really really love that I can wear whatever is currently in fashion and that size 10 shoes will alwasy be guaranteed to fit now, and often I only need a 9. I love that a special night out is not cause of panic and tantrums, I can choose from some lovely dresses I already own or simply buy another one, in any store I fancy. Without having to shop for Shapewear and other ugly foundation garments first - I can match my nice dress to some very teeny tiny lingerie!

I love the fact that the hotel towel met at the edges this past weekend when we went to California. I love that instead of a red mark around my stomach caused by my waistband that when walking around the house my shorts had gotten so big that they just fell down to my ankles....lol time for some new clothes.

That my back is now smooth - no more rolls.

That my Bracelet is looser on my wrist.

That I got my jaw back and it doesn't just slide into my neck anymore!!

That my husband can't keep his hands off of me!!

That I am finally going to have some success with this battle I have been fighting for over 20 years!!!

I love this hourglass shape that I have back.

I'm wearing Jeans again instead of Swets.

I look in the Mirror, and see that I am actually getting smaller..

My older cloths are falling off of me..

I'm so use to wearing elastic slacks, that all pants, (even Jeans) I can take off without unbuttoning.

I found that out going to the bathroom one time.. Couldn't believe it.)

But I love myself for hanging in there ! It makes a difference.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
