to screwed up to exercise

Recommended Posts

I have had the crappiest spring/ summer. I have had both feet operated on-

battled positional vertigo for 4 motnhs ..

There is no exercisng and I have gained 6 pounds and am so po'd at myself .

I need a fill and our insurance REFUSES to help with ANYTHING that is lap band related .

I forgot to mention that last week I fell and broke my tailbone -- this was caused by the dizziness from the vertigo

Well, hey, at this point everything has bottom out.

I think, with your body healing in other ways, getting a fill and getting 6 pounds off should not be a concern. Your body needs extra nutrients to heal. Give yourself a bit of a break to let yourself heal.

Sadly, all the other procedures on your feet and your tailbone are probably what is keeping your insurance from clearing the fill... Check back monthly to see what sort of time frame it will be for the next procedure to be covered.

I'd focus on good eating, though. Calcium for the bones, the good stuff like that. A fill can't fix that stuff.

Are you in PT for your feet?

Would swimming with earplugs be out of the question to help the positional vertigo? I taught classes for people with inner ear issues that created vertigo, and practicing moving body from horizontal to vertical in swimming seemed to help. Also, swimming is great, very subtle cardio.

I am a self pay patient .. Drained savings to dothis .. our so called insurance refuses to pay anything .. even tho my weight loss has allowed me to come off type 2 diabetes meds-this crap insurance says this is an unproven.procedure.. BUT they do pay for penile implants for men on this insurance .

very frustraring ..

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
