There are a number of people on this forum that spend most of their time helping others overcome difficulties and uncertainty.

Every once in a while, and sometimes unknown to you, you've touched someone's life in a very positive way with your efforts.

Most of us, waiting for WLS, are filled with apprehenson, probably much as you were and speaking for myself, I'd just like to thank

each of you.

You're having surgery at 74 years old? I think that is awesome. Good for you and good luck!

Cindy, you were one of the folks I had in mind when I wrote that post. Reading through posts from the past few years, you've never had a bad word

to say to anyone, only good, positive advice and for that I'm grateful.

As to my age, I consider myself 35 or 40 years old. I still ride (horses and my motorcycle), I just bought a new road bike to ride with my son, have half a dozen hobbies,

and just don't feel like quiting yet. I have a few health problems that WLS should help, so here I am.

Thank-you, but don't be so sure. I have had my days! LOL!

That's great. Staying young is so important. Age really is just a number. I work in geriatrics (not to say that you're geriatric) and can tell you first hand that staying active and keeping a positive mental attitude is key to a long healthy life. I've had patients in their 90's still going strong and others in their 60's ready for the grave. As for myself, at 48 and 324 pounds I felt like I was in my 60's. Now, 3 years later, I'm 51 and 176 pounds and think I'm 35!

Good luck to you, my friend. I'm sure you'll do great! Keep us posted.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
