Ugh, I'm so mad at myself right now! I got through the wedding and honeymoon, and let myself slack off for about a month. Amazingly, I only gained 5 pounds through the wedding and honeymoon planning and festivities, which is incredible considering I'm a big time stress eater. I was bound and determined at the beginning of August to get back on track and lose a little more weight before school started. I did well for about a week, and then started to slack a little. I didn't go to the gym once. NOT ONCE! And then we had the family reunion, which was 4 days of camping and included all the unhealthy campire foods. I had been off track a bit, so I gave myself a free pass for the weekend...NOT A GOOD IDEA! I had 2-3 s'mores every night, and hot dogs galore, mountain pies, beer brats...good Lord, now that I'm sitting here writing this I'm wondering how the heck I managed to eat all this CRAP?!?!? I shouldn't even be ABLE to eat all this! UGH! So this morning I made myself face the scale...I've gained ten pounds in a week!!! AHHHHHH!!!! I'm hoping, praying, that with all the high sodium junk I ate that a lot of it is Water weight. I took a good look at my face in the mirror this morning, and I can tell it's puffy. No wonder my clothes were feeling snug! YIKES! This morning is a serious re-start. I am bound and determined to get to goal by the end of 2011! Enough piddling around, time to get serious. I have a doctor's appointment this Friday. He's not going to be happy, but I guess I need to face the music...and get a serious fill!

Thanks for letting me vent!

Wow! Its amazing how we have to work so hard and it takes a month to get rid of 10 lbs but can put it on in 1 week. It Sucks! Try not to stress to bad. Jump on the band wagon and start eating healthy again. You can do it! Its a brand new day!

I bet a Bit of it is Water weight. You'd have to eat 35000 extra calories for 10#, which I'm sure you didnt do. Jump back on the wagon. You can do this!

Forgive yourself and continue to move on. You fell off the wagon, have identified the problem and I am sure have learned some new lessons about yourself and your relationship with food. Lessons learned.

Congrats on recognizing your step off and being determined to get back up and get going to meet your goal.

Girl, from your stats it's obvious you know exactly what to do - you have had amazing results!

Pick at starting goal-maybe exercise? You can aboslutely turn this around !

Ok, you've lost 154 pounds so far, you got through the wedding, and you've totally enjoyed your vacation. You've given yourself a food reward for all the stresses you've been going through. Everyone here is really proud of your accomplishments, as you should be, and nobody deserves a break more than you do.

BUT, the party's over. Now it's time to get back on that horse, and get back to work. The beauty of the band is how forgiving it can be, if you focus on doing what you should. You know how to do this, and you know how much better you feel when you're doing what you totally know how to do. No shame, no foul. Just go for it.

And report back when you're down that ten pounds again. I figure it'll be a couple of weeks, tops. Good luck!

Dave

I agree with Dave! You have done it before, you can do it again! Mostly, forgive yourself, because you don't want to wallow in self pity. Good luck! Karen

Thanks everyone! I'm not one to wallow in self-pity, but I did need to vent a little. If I'm being completely honest with myself, I haven't been on the band wagon for the past 6 months or so. But I've got less than 40 pounds to goal, and by darn it I'm gonna get there!

Just like everyone else said, I'm proud of you too!! And you definitely know how to lose the weight, girl. I do know it gets frustrating when you've seen the lower number on the scale and just want it to come back. Hang in there, you can do this. You DESERVED all that fun you had for your wedding, honeymoon, camping, etc. Now you can get back on track like you did for so long! Congrats!!!!

You've lost 154 POUNDS!!!! This isn't your first rodeo...you know what to do :) You probably gained about 3 - 4 pounds total and the rest is Water weight....drink TONS of water, cut the carbs and you'll have it gone in no time. You are an inspiration!!!

Thanks for sharing. I too had a long slip (about 4 weeks). Traveling for business, a mini vacation spent hiking like crazy but crap for food, all got me spinning off my pristine eating. I too gained exactly 10 pounds. Finally the scale is down a little. I have to see the doctor next week but I haven't lost ANYTHING in 6 weeks! They are going to flip! I was losing like 2 pounds per week. Like you said, I need a kick in the ass. My nurse (called her out of desperation) recommended I reread all of my training materials and my program binder. I haven't yet.

Congrats on getting so far toward your goal. And thanks for letting me know I am not alone. I think I need to be a little less hard on myself and realize to err is human. (Or to pig out for a moment is a OK for a stressed out business woman with a thyroid issue and menopause breathing down my neck!)

QUESTION: It sounds like you were worried because it seemed like you could eat larger volumes of food. That scares me, too. I have had ZERO restriction since my surgery. I worry that I have messed up my stomach! (Still, I am down 70 pounds since Feb 25, 2011. No complaints!)

Thanks for your time!

Carrie

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
