ONEderland for the first time in 25 years!!!

Recommended Posts

I have hit ONEderland for the first time in 25 years.:) :) :) :) :) . .no one could possibly understand how good this feels. I was banded in 11/09 and it took me this long to loose 50lbs. . . I have 50 more to go. I ate grits on Saturday and by Sunday I was not holding down much of anything, including the Clear liquids. Tried to tough it our myself, (stayed on Clear Liquids for 2 days) but realized I was vomiting A LOT, so I called my doc. He's a very careful surgeon and decided to deflate me and let me heal. He will put some back in on Sept. 12th under flouro. Please say a pray for me that I don't blow up like a ballon till then. It took us almost a year to find the "sweet spot" and now it's gone. Fortunetly, I'm smaller and I feell like walking/jogging more, so I hope I will stay close to ONEderland.

This has NOT been an easy journey, but I'd walk EVERY SINGLE STEP AGAIN, to get these 50lbs gone. Now, to go to the other half of the race.

(hugs!)

Susan

Prayers are being said for you!! Just remember during the tough times how hard you have worked and that there IS an end in sight. Focus on the goal, but you need to heal first. This isn't a setback, just another step in your weight loss journey. Good luck, I know you can do it!!

You seem to have a really good attitude. Keep up the walking/jogging for sure. Until you get restriction again I would focus on eating the right foods (lowcarb, lowfat, high protien). Your portions may be larger than they will be once you've had a few fills but you will hopefully not gain. Best wishes, and congrats on getting to onederland, it's a huge milestone.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
