how many times have u PBed?

Recommended Posts

Im just curious its happened to me twice so far... and im like freaked out bc obbbvvviiously i dont want it to happen that often bc i know its bad for u.

The two times it has happened it seemed like i was was toally in "old habit" overdrive mode (eating too quickly not chewing well enough ect ect)...its suchhhhh a hard habit to break but everytime! BUT everytime i get a PB im freaaaaaked not to ever let it happen again...so it makes me think more while im eating (so maybe its a hard lesson a bandster has to go thru in order to chang the habbit).

Just wanted to see if its happened to people more then once...and what are some of there suggestions as to stay focused while eating!

it happens to me a lot. I'll go days without a problem then something that was not problem before triggers me. Very frustrating and socially - what a mess. I know that sometimes it's just like you described - too much to fast. Other times -and what I'm learning is sometimes 4-5 small bites is all I can tolerate. My mind and mouth rebell but I'm learning that if I wait 10 minutes a few more bites is ok. It embarresses me that I'm still learning this. Worse in the morning and usually much better by supper but not always. Someone had a posting last week "I think I've figured it out" which was right on for me. I think sometimes the stomach gets irritated after an episode of overfill and then is not good for several days until that irritation resolves and probably better to do liquids and mushy stuff for that period.

Good luck to you. I've been banded 7 months with 1 fill 1.8.

I PB alot too. I know it is because I am eating too much too fast and I am still figuring out what my band will and will not tolerate. It scares me but I think and hope it will get better!

I haven't PB'd yet **knock on wood** :( But I have had the feeling of food getting stuck and that isn't fun either. I have just learned to stretch, walk around and breath...AND CHEW YOUR FOOD!!! That is one of my downfalls but I am better at it now! Just take your time and you will be ok. :D

I have not had a full blown PB, but I have gotten food stuck a few times. I still don't know if it's because my bites are a bit too big or if I try to eat too fast. Fried foods usually get stuck, so I have been trying to avoid them.

Geez...I lost count a long time ago. That doesn't mean I do it often, just that it's not something I never counted.

I used to do it about 2 to 3 times a week. Than I got a slight unfill. Later I got more of a fill past the point of the first that made me pb so often. Now I am at my largest fill 1.6cc. I pb about 1 a week or 1 every two weeks. Its always b/c I am eating something I shouldn't or the way I ate it was wrong. SO the good news is I am not to tight just still a little forgetful to some of the bandster rules.

I have a dumb question (yeah - I'm new to being banded)......If one PBs, does it happen after you've had at least one fill.

I'm 2 wks in being banded and have never come close to experiencing any PB as described - so do I need to have my first fill to know what you guys are talking about?

all the time about 3-4 times a week. yeah, I know, no one throw the popcorn at me! I have a very tight fill, but I am still maintaining my weight if I don't work really hard at exercising eveyday and keeping my calories really low. Sometimes I feel bulemic because I will eat something horrible and then PB and then feel better because I got to eat what I wanted but didn't get the calories from it. This happens on a rare occasion, but it happens. Oh well. I like where I am now.

Mother hen alert!!

Kim & Laura, you have me really worried... It's NOT normal to PB 3-5 times a week! Your stomach has to be in a perpetual state of irritation, and that's just not good. Don't be afraid to get an unfill (and if you're doctor's being stupid about it, insist on it or find a new doctor).

I'm sure you've heard this before, but you need to be on liquids for at least 24 hours after a PB. After you PB your stomach swells up and it makes it that much easier to have another PB. It's a vicious cycle.

Don't be afraid of an unfill. I had one a month ago and now I'm at my sweet spot. Preaching over, phew! ;)

To answer the original question... I have PB'd 3 times in 6 months. Each time I was eating too fast and taking huge bites. The last time was just yesterday in a restaurant. Don't know what I was thinking cause I was really shoveling it in. Thank God I knew where the bathroom was!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
