How do you deal with in between clothing sizes?

Recommended Posts

I used to wear 2X in scrub pants, but now they are falling off, but i still cant fit into a 1X comfortably? My workout pants are also starting to fall off. I dont have the nerve to wear fitted clothes to the gym yet so all my stuff is pretty baggy, but i'm not there to be cute, right? LOL! Wish someone would invent a way to adapt your clothes until you are comfortably in the next size. Nope I cant sew, even a button causes me problems! LOL Just wondering how others are handling this dilemma if they have it?

I had things taken in. It was about $10.00 for a pair of pants. Much cheaper than buying new for work clothes. I work in an office, so I wear professional clothes. You might also try different brands. They might fit differently.

I feel your pain! LOL I used to wear 26-28's, but now they're too big, but as many of us know, there is no 24-26 size!! BLAH! There's 18-20, 20-22, 22-24, 26-28.....where is the 24-26??? There's my rant for the day! LOL

I started out in a 3X and am currently between a 12 & 14. I too wore scrubs on my job. I found that the draw string ones could be worn much longer than the elastic waisted ones.

Have any friends that can sew? My mom sews all my pants so I can wear them as long as possible! Buy things with drawstrings whenever possible. For the workout pants, if you can roll them down, put on a belt and roll the pant over it to keep them up and the belt on. I want to lose another 27 lbs before I even consider buying new clothes so I'm just trying to wear whatever I can that sort of works. I look pretty terrible at the gym! Yesterday I wore black & pink nike's, a gray tshirt, and navy blue capri's...so you're not the only one!

I also work in an office and have fairly expensive dress pants that I'm going to continue wearing as long as possible. I wish I could look cute at work, but I am not investing in an expensive pair of pants that I can wear for a month or two. Old navy has some AWESOME plus size yoga capri's that are very stretchy and a size too small isn't too bad, they actually hold you in very nicely. So look into them, the price is right also.

I agree with the scrubs right now I'm to small for XL, but the large is like skin tight. It was either pulling up my XL pants every 10 min or so and they looked like parachute pants on me. Or deal with somewhat uncomfortable pants. I chose the latter after deciding my larger pants were just to annoying. Hopefully I'll lose an once or two in my hips (the waist is completely fine) and they'll feel much mor comfortable

I would go with the Drawstring to keep them up.

I don't know about where you live, but here you trade in your old scrubs, and they pay you so much twords a purchase. Now that can be Brand New or Something that someone has traded in, like you would have done.

These are Scrub Shops So you might want to look around, and see if you can find anything like this, and purchase some Scrubs.

I actually pulled my 18 sized pants off without unbuttoning them yesterday  I can fit in 16's pretty good right now and almost to a 14 that will be tight for awhile. I really need to get rid of my 18's because they are of no use to me anymore. They are annoying to wear.dry.gif

I guess we need to look at this as a GOOD thing! Congrats to all of you :P

I'm just getting back into my size 14 pants and skirts. I have quite a few sizes of pants right now for work and tons of jeans, but my nice stuff is all too small still.

I'm buying new workout t-shirts at Walmart for 5 bucks a pop. I plan to take some of my business attire to the tailor and have them insert darts or whatever they do to make you look good.

I once heard Jackie O had a fashion philosophy that clothes look best when they fit properly, so I'm going to emphasize my new, smaller waistline! It's like getting a whole new wardrobe!

Clothes that are too big make me feel thin, i have a very bad habit of wearing too large clothes. So by the time i thought i actually needed new oned i was well down into the next size. I wasnt dealing with corporate wear so everday clothes are pretty cheap.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
