Just got a date ! So excited !

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I just got the call on Thursday that I got approved !! I am scheduled for August 16th. So excited and of course a little nervous.

I start my 2 week pre op diet on august 1st. The dr.'s office has it so you buy the shakes from them ? Is this normal ?

I am to have these shakes 4 times a day for 2 weeks. I hope I can make it.

I am walking/traing to walk in the 3Day breast cancer walk, will I have the strength at this time to keep up my walking ?

also my dr. Recommend 2-3 weeks off work. I really don't think I can afford to take off that long. I do not have vacation pay. Do you think I will be okay after 1 week if I watch myself and keepuself restricted ?

Thank you.

Congratulations!!!

My doctor office also had it where you buy the shake mix from them. I found out the brand of the shakes and actually found them cheaper online at a website called Bariatric Choice.

I would continue to train for your walk. Just take it down a notch and if you are not up to it...then take it easy. You'll have plenty of time for exercise after surgery.

I ended up taking 2 weeks off because I had lots of vacation time. I have desk job and I could have gone back to work after a week. You might try to go back half day for a day or 2 to see how it goes.

Good Luck!!

 You will do great- my doctor also sells shakes-- they are a little pricey...but ones I actually enjoy, so I continue to get them thru his office.

Depending on your job will depend on your time off needed. If it is a desk job you would not need 2 weeks for sure, i had surgery on a Wed - worked from home Friday and was traveling (by plane and car) on the following Wed

Good luck and keep us posted

Congratulations! Like DRCS, I'm still waiting for the call. Every one who I have spoken to feels much better after day 3... A week is probably okay as long as when you go back to work you take it easy. The week you return, call out Wednesday...you work 2days...take wed off to rest/relax then work 2 more days :). Good luck! Blessings

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
