TMI question about tummy tucks...

Recommended Posts

I believe that they call this a mons lift. I think it was added for me no charge. In addition, my plastic surgeon did some Lipo in that area.

Good luck!

Sue

When they do the Tummy Tuck does it also raise or flatten the skin in your pubic area?

So this is something I need to specifically ask the surgeon about then? I'm starting to make a list of questions. I won't be able to do it until May but I'm getting ready to do consults now to see about the financial aspect and recovery times.

YES!!!!! Talk to the PS because I didn't know to do that!!!!! At least if you get some Lipo it won't get as chubby as if the fat cells were still there waiting to be filled!!!

I wish I had known to ask as well. I'm 3 weeks out and mine are pretty chubby. The nurse told me I'm still pretty swollen and it will get better, but I don't think I'm that swollen. I hope it gets better but I really can't see it going down a lot. Good luck.

Great questions, I wondered the same thing. I assumed when they cut out the section of skin, that they pull the tummy down and pull the cooch up, lol! I'll be SPECIFICALLY covering that as well...in the future! I've got 20 more lbs to lose before doing a consult!

Thank, so much for asking this question!!! I am having the same problem with my "mons" area!!! I will definitely ask the ps for a lift up in that area when they give me my Tummy Tuck. I am only down 42 lbs. with about 58 to go but I can all ready see the yucky saggy skin, UGH. I know all the exercise in the world won't help and I am so glad I have this board. The last thing I won't to do is ask my personal trainer is if there is an exercise for this!!!! LOL

Thanks and good luck to everyone!!!

I had a TT a year ago, and I didn't even think to ask this question. Afterward...I remember thinking...WHY does it look like that area is HUGE?? First of all...there was swelling for a few weeks, so don't be alarmed. Secondly, I decided that after years of not really getting to see the whole area correctly when looking down (because there were too many rolls of fat in the way!) that it simply looked different to me! That may sound odd, but I really think it's the truth. You have to get used to looking at your body like you've never seen it before. Also, while there was not any work done specifically on that area, the natural result of cutting out a hunk of fat and sewing the edges together just automatically pulled it "up". I'm happy to say that the swelling went down and all is well now : ) Best of luck! and NEVER be afraid to ask questions!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
