I think having good self esteem is important to having a good relationship. I know that I have had serious problems with depression and low self esteem during my 10 year relationship with my husband. I know that who I am becoming as I loose the weight is a happier and healthier person. Sometimes the people we marry or partner with become comfortable with us as overweight/depressed/unhappy people. Sometimes the changes we make in ourselves change the dynamics in our relationships, like we demand more respect/attention/sex etc. Sometimes our partners don't want to make the changes that will allow a relationship to flourish in a healthy way, sometimes they do. I don't judge you for thinking about making changes in your relationship when you are doing so much work to change your life in other ways. YOU need to be a happy and healthy person. YOU will be a better mom if you are happy and healthy. If you can be happy in your marriage, then stay. If you can't be happy then do what you need to do to be happy. Because as the daughter of a single mother, I know that I respect and love my mother for making the choice to leave a bad marriage in order to give herself AND me a better life.

Also, to the guy who posted that you should kill yourself, and accused you of having an abortion, I'm embarrassed for him. He's just making all the sane, nice, and loving Christians out there look bad.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
