Devastated by this

Recommended Posts

I was banded January 2010. I was really honestly having this surgery for my mom. My husband and children loved me but my mom hated that I was fat! So I did it! Worst design ever! I want this thing out! I'm 24 I want to be able to go out to dinner with friends not carry ziplock bags in my car so I can puke all the time! I want to eat more than soup! I've only had one fill! I'm so upset because my 4 year old came home and said mommy I can't tell my friends you throw up all the tons because their mommies won't let them hang out with us. Then my 2 year old takes her barbie and makes it throw up! I'm done I want it out it huts I'm sick I can't do it! Will a doc take it out just because like ASAP or what do I do:(

So you've had the band for a year and a half now and you're constantly throwing up? You should NOT be puking so much. What you really need to do is get in to see a band doctor ASAP and tell them what's going on. At the very least you need to have that band emptied out. You might have had a slip at this point. You could have internal damage if it's been slipped for a while.

Please, please go see a band doctor. What you are experiencing isn't normal and it's NOT what the band is supposed to do for you.

So sorry to hear of your problems. I faced nothing like this. You need to see your doctor, not the dang PA , go in with a list of what you ate or drank and how low it stayed down, give evert detail you got.. Wheather it was just slimp or total throw up. You need your Water and you need that Protein.

Now not to sound all know it all, but didn't you have a phycs eval. That was a big question for me, why are you doing this. you know no one else will have controll of how this works for you. If mom istn't the driving froce of your life, then mom gets no vote. You might need a sit down to cover what is happening to youl And you need to do it as soon as possible,

I hope you've gone to the doctor by now and are feeling a little better. Have you talked to your kids about why you vomit all the time? I think having a conversation with them about how "Mommy's stomach hurts sometimes and she can't help throwing up" would shed some light on what's going on for you. Obviously they are picking up on your sickness, and talking to them about it can help them see it's not something you enjoy, but is something you are trying to work out with your doctor. Maybe you can give other examples of people who have special things they do, like a diabetic giving themselves a shot. They sound scared about it, and maybe a little reassurance that you are mostly ok and are working on this will help them feel better. Hope I am not overstepping any bounds here. Good luck!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
