I made it through! So glad its over though!!

I made it through surgery and the doctor said I did fine and everything went smoothly. I don't think I had prepared myself with the amount of pain I would be in afterwards, but each day is easier. They didn't release us until about 9:30 Thursday night and with a 2-hour ride home, it was a rough day. Was even rougher when the pharmacy wouldn't fill my RX because the doctor that wrote it was a residence of the hospital who had just graduated and can only prescribe in the hospital. Needless to say, Friday morning when everything had wore off I was hurting terribly. Thank God my husband was on a war path and was able to get me some pain meds before noon, which have helped.

Hope you're all doing great and I can't wait to start seeing the changes!!

congrats, Jonna! I wasn't anticipating the pain levels either - but three days out and I'm definitely starting to feel better. Although my body is doing odd things, I'm not in as much pain as I have been in. :) Hope you continue to get well!!

Congrats...I hope everything continues to go well. I was one of the lucky ones, my pain was much less than I anticipated. Never even took pain meds.

I was banded on the 30th. I was in lots of pain the first day and pretty sore the next and today. I've been dealing with lots of gas. For me I totally underestimated the pain. But as the day goes on, it gets a lot easier. Good Luck.

Thanks All! Today has been the least of pain, but when I try to stand or sit it's real bad on the left side. I'm assuming that's where the port is. Continued success everyone!!

I was banded on June 28th and I feel really good 6 days post op. The gas is/was very painful and I have pain at my port site. Other than that, I am on my way to a smooth recovery and I hope you are as well! Good Luck!

I was banded on the 30th also. I was one of the unfortunate ones that got very sick from the anesthesia and pain meds so I spent the first 12 hours throwing up. Did not anticipate that at all. Once all of that was out of my system I am feeling fine, just kind of week and light headed. Haven't had anything for pain since Saturday morning early.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
