I think that I am still learning (and failing) how to recognize the difference between hunger and gas pains. I am not sure of what I feel, but I can be sure that I never had gas problems, or heartburn, or indigestion before. I am making up for it now. Oh, by the way, ended up having a hernia repair also.

I was BAD today with my diet! I'm not doing this again. Had less than 1000 calories but ate junk. I'm back on wagonn but what the heck was I thinking?

Oh, man. I had the largest lunch (a little over 1/2C) today and about an hour later I started with diarrhea. I can't even leave the house - my stomach is making all sorts of strange rumbling sounds. I'm eating a stick of cheese right now in hopes that it will help a bit - I also took a dose of anti-diarrheal medicine...but DANG. Makes me glad that I'm not working right now - what on earth would I do?? I work so hard to get any liquid in and now I'm worried that I need even more now! Grrrrrr!

I am searching for the strength to go to work tomorrow because I am dreading the BS that awaits me. I need to rant because I just need an outlet: I WORK FOR BAD PEOPLE who are morally bankrupt and have no sense of loyalty to anyone but themselves. I'm not supposed to know about tomorrow, but I actually have real friends in high places who care about me. I know there will be some stupid stuff tomorrow and that I am going to suck it up because they "own my a$$" their words, not mine. I'm so ready to ask for a demotion and go out of management. Don't want to be affiliated with these people! Sorry for rant but needed to get that out.

Life is too short! Find a way to make the money you NEED (vs want) and be happy!! I know this is often easier said than done, but a toxic work environment can damage so many parts of you!!!

hi all, i am struggling with the mushy stage...my appetite has returned now that i am healing well, and weight loss has almost stalled...i know this is to be expected until i get a fill, but it is very disappointing. i am trying to Portion Control, but i feel hungry now and so the calories are adding up much faster then when i was still on liquids...i guess i don't care if i don't lose much more until my fill on july 29, but i just hope i don't gain any of this lost weight back...i made a promise to myself that the scale will never move upwards again after the lapband, even if it stays the same or moves .1 downwards, JUST NOT UP PLEASE! i had my post-op appt today, and that went well though...

I'm using myfitnesspal.com to track everything I eat and it is really helpful. Hang in there. I think we've lost some of our July post-ops, unfortunately. I really need the support that we have here. Come back often and lets cheer each other on. We can do this!!

hey all! thought I'd check in and give an update... 11 days post banding, back at work as of yesterday, 1 week off. still on full liquid diet, but the doc told me to add more Protein if I feel hungry, which I'm doing and I feel great doing it. energy level is already up! HOWEVER.. my stomache has at times sounded like "sounds of the ocean".. whale songs and what have you, and the accompanying diarrhea, well.... I too am having some cheese and cottage cheese to firm things up a bit, and it's working.

recovery... had surgery Friday, July 1. home Saturday. catnapped thru Tuesday, but made it a point to get up and move every hour. started with 10 minutes, worked my way up to 20. good thing to do as moving expels gas, which, no matter who you are, after surgery always feels better.

By wednesday the "punched in the gut" feeling had subsided quite a bit. Friday I cut the lawn, did stuff around the yard and house all weekend, back to work Monday. I feel good, have only occasional very minor soreness, and can say I'm glad I did this. That's it for now!

So interesting to see how many are already eating more than just mushies. I am in the mushy phase but really would say I am doing more of a half and half. I have 1-2 Protein shakes a day and usually one meal of mushies. I don't really find myself hungry. My stomach grumbles and makes the whale sounds that others have heard but when it is done I don't feel hungry. I do know that I am tired but I think that is more thanks to my daughter waking at night and me going to sleep late than anything else!

Hope everyone is feeling well!

I'm here :) Just really hungry all the time. I'm sure that my weight loss is stalling but i haven't gotten on the scale lately.

I went to support group last night at my surgeon's office. It was good. We talked about how our body is a temple and reflected on how we are treating it.... And then our homework is to write a love letter to our body. Praising it for all the good it has done for us in our life...taken us through many adventures and carrying us despite our abuse. It was interesting.

I am eating mushy stuff....really want some tuna salad. I had scrambled egg beaters last night and cottage cheese. It was good. :)

I was banded 07/07/11. Everything went smooth. I just started full liquids today and can't wait to get to mushies. How much full liquids areas supposed to drink during the day. I have been looking through everything but cant seem to find this answer.

Hi, I was banded the same day as you. My doc says try to get 60-80 grms of Protein in by adding shakes and unflovred portein powder to your full liquids. I have been have cream of wheat, yogurt shakes and creamed strained Soups. What are yiu having?

My first support group is on Thursday. I'm looking forward to it. I went to several support groups pre-op when I was trying to decide on where I would have the surgery, but not this one (True Results). I'm hoping that there is someone close to my age (33). I also have my post op appointment today with the surgeon. Hopefully the GI system allows me to leave the house today. LOL!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
